Up for the challenge

At QMS we love a good challenge! One of our prestigious clients Morgan Sindall have been delivering a programme of essential maintenance work within the Harrison Building at Exeter University. This is for the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences and is used for teaching and research across a number of complimentary scientific disciplines.

The layout of the machine workshop is a block concept with a black resin floor. The architects wanted to incorporate a more contemporary design for the walkway route to inspire and encourage an outstanding student experience.

Due to the complexity of this project, and with a wealth of experience in floor marking applications, we were approached by Morgan Sindall to step up to the mark.

Measuring from scheme plans, the area was carefully taped out and then the light grey colour applied. Solidlux was chosen due to the fast cure with excellent adhesion to existing resin flooring without the requirement for mechanical surface preparation.

Solidlux is a heavy-duty, impact and chemical resistant industrial floor coating that is cured instantly using Ultra-Violet technology. Due to the fast cure process, the material can be applied in working zones without halting operations resulting in minimum disruption and maximum time savings.

The finished project resulted in the client receiving a solid colour walkway with excellent non-slip properties.

Team QMS - we make it happen!
